TS STRIKER

A major role in any fire starting kit that uses a ferro rod is that of the “striker”, or “scraper”, as it is sometimes referred to. This is because tiny pieces of the ferro rod are being scraped off by the tool. These tiny pieces of material are pyrophoric and auto-ignite to become the spark.

Without a quality striker the fire starting system’s effectiveness is compromised. A striker that is too soft or dull will never shave the ferro rod material sufficiently to cause sparks.

Enter the TS S TRIKER , a dedicated fire starting tool that is designed for compact effectiveness.

Machined from high speed, carbon alloy tool steel, the TS S TRIKER is heat treated and tempered for the specific purpose of scraping ferro rods. It has a hand honed, sharp 90 degree edge with a concave shape. The edge shape is important because it facilitates increased control which allows for a wide range of effective motion during use. While deep handle grooves provide a high degree of control and retention while in use.
